Product Verification

Smart has identified a use for its SHOPS™ technology in this market where there is potential for physical or financial damage as a result of using incorrect or contaminated products.

Below are two examples of how we’re working with partners to meet their needs.

H2NO™ - TESTING FOR FREE WATER IN KEROSENE

Smart has created a first generation novel water detection system based on its SHOPS™ technology.

The moisture sensitive sensor is tunenable to operate in a variety of different fuel/water levels. It can will be used worldwide to verify the presence (or absence) of free water in aviation fuel, in accordance with industry regulations. Each year, around 20 million tests are taken, often in extreme weather conditions which can lead to compromised test results. Our device has been optimised for ease of use and to deliver accurate and real-time results.

Detecting moisture in architectural glazing

370 million glazing units are produced each year for commercial or industrial use. Of these, many are defective due to damaged seals before they are even installed.

The losses incurred are not just financial. In large buildings using thousands of units, the associated energy loss and associated damage to the environment is also significant.

Smart is establishing partnerships with architectural glazing companies to develop a moisture sensor capable of identifying faulty windows. We are confident that this product would be the first of its kind and would raise the bar for industry standards.
